Leith will take his Roy – A Tribute To Roy Orbison tour to regional Australia, after a sold-out run in metropolitan centres in 2016.
He will play at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, March 25.
The tour commemorates 30 years since Roy Orbison was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll and Songwriters’ Hall of Fame.
Leith has always had a strong affinity with Orbison’s music and released a multi-platinum selling, ARIA-nominated tribute album in 2011.
Since recording Roy – A Tribute to Roy Orbison, Leith has had the great honour of writing with legendary songwriter Joe Melson, who co-wrote hits such as Crying and Blue Bayou with Orbison.
“In a way, I am keeping in touch with Roy through Joe, who says that nothing excited him to write music since Roy until he heard my voice,” Leith said.
“So you can imagine, it is an absolute honour and privilege to work with Joe and keep Roy’s legacy alive."
Leith was set to perform in Cessnock on November 5 but the show was postponed due to the bushfire on the Pacific Highway.
Tickets from that show can be exchanged for the March 25 show by calling Cessnock Performing Arts Centre on 4993 4266.
