Harry came third at the recent Australian Junior Age Division for Golf and will now travel to the US in July as a part of the Australian team.
The youngster who attends St Philip's Christian College Cessnock shot rounds of 40, 43 and 37 at Capricorn Golf Club, at Yeppoon in Queensland,to finish third, four shots clear of the field in the six years and under age division.
Harry’s dad and caddie Justin said that his son showed great maturity to turn a bad start around on the third day.
“On the fourth hole during the third round of play after two double bogies, he turned to me and asked what he need to do to shoot a 36 (an even par round).
“After discussing a couple of scenarios, he was determined to fight back and confident he could do so. Harry overcame a deficit of four shots between himself and third place going into the final day of competition to finish a clear third, three shots in front of fourth.
Harry impressed the tournament coordinators and as a result of his great scores, play and conduct throughout the titles he has been selected to represent Australia at the World Stars of Junior Golf in Las Vegas from July 16-20 and and the West Coast AAU Junior Olympics in Temecula California from July 23-27.
Harry is a member of Jack Newton Junior Golf's Juniors On the Move program and The Vintage Golf Club's Junior Golf Foundation where he receives tuition from Richard Mercer.
