Heddon Street, Heddon Greta – 8.30-3, stuck for up to 15 minutes. Mick Carr
Wollombi Road, Cessnock West – 8.15am-8.45am and then again school time pick up. Denise
Government Road/Hart Road/Gingers Lane intersection – Trying to cross Government Road coming from Gingers Lane is very dangerous. It's difficult to see traffic coming from either side. Have seen many near misses as cars try and rush across during peak hour and suddenly a car comes around the bend. The bridge and road on Government Road is in terrible condition with dozens of potholes from previous lazy repairs. That whole section desperately needs to be completely re-tarred as well. Taymar Wilcox, Weston
Main Road and Young Street, Heddon Greta – You take your life in your hands trying to turn right at that intersection. Many cars going too fast. Wait 10 minutes some mornings and afternoons. W Hawley, Heddon Greta
Mount View Road – School start and finish, sports events at the Basin, any damage to fallen trees in storms. There are three new estates and only one road in or out. Also, Wollombi Road – Most times of day you are stuck getting out traffic on the entire road especially at West Cessnock past the school. Megan Lunn, Cessnock
Corner Main Road and Earp Street, Heddon Greta – All day. Constant U-turns performed with cars turning into the golf course side of Earp Street and pulling straight back into traffic without checking. Dangerous to pull out of Earp St on service station side due to poorly maintained dirt road. Cars waiting to do a U-turn from Main Road into Earp Street wait and wait until it is possible to get around and back onto Main Road therefore causing excess wait time for residents who wish to access Earp street to return home or making cars trying to leave the service station unable to do so for up to six minutes at peak times. Cars trying to do U-turns will pull in to Earp Street and stop across the entire street while waiting for the car before them to pull out onto Main Road, meaning cars wishing to turn left from Main Road are unable to do so or any other cars trying to drive further up Earp Street are unable to enter until these cars re-enter Main Road. I have even on a few occasions witnessed a line up 4-5 cars waiting to enter Main Road from Earp Street have a car attempt a U-turn from Main Road and cut these cars off. We have had over 10 accidents on this corner since the expressway opened. Danielle Quinn
Wollombi Road from West Cessnock traffic lights to Vincent Street traffic lights – Stuck every weekday morning 8.30- 9am and afternoon 3-4pm. Saturday mornings bad also and around KFC is horrendous of an evening. J Parkes, Bellbird Heights
Near East Cessnock Public School. Very hard to get out of any side street and cross the road in school times. Needs lights, lots of congestion. School start and finish are the worst times, up to 15 minutes. Michelle, Cessnock
Wollombi Road, any time of the day – Wollombi Road and Mount View Road junction traffic most times of the day, but more specifically during school runs am/pm and from 1700. Dez Picton, Cessnock
Corner Hart Road, Sawyers Gully Road, Gingers Lane and Government Rd – From 7.30am to 8.45 am and anywhere from 5.30pm to 7pm turning right from Gingers Lane onto Government Road (heading towards Weston) have to wait several minutes sometimes waiting for traffic to cross from Hart Road to Gingers Lane, and then traffic turning right from Government Road to Hart Road. It's an accident waiting to happen that corner! Cars fly across that intersection! My daily nightmare! Wish someone would do something about it!! Rachael McGee, Weston
Orange Street and Cessnock Road – Everyday all day with people getting off the Expressway. Brendon Briedenhan, Abermain
Heddon Greta, Intersection of Main Road, adjacent to Red Rooster – Anytime of day. Cars illegally doing U-turns and illegal right hand turns. Anne Parkinson, Kurri Kurri
Heddon Greta – 7am/10am 2pm/8pm. Natalie Porter
Hart Road, Sawyers Gully Road. Tom
T-intersection Westcott Street and Wolllombi Road – Any time of day turning right into Wollombi Road from Westcott Street, five to ten minutes. Also corner Sperry Street and Allandale Road, Cessnock (turning right from Sperry Street). Mark Duerden, Cessnock
Main Road and Heddon Street intersection at Heddon Greta – So much more dangerous than before. Kids crossing road to get to school buses scary... about 8-8.30am and between 4.30pm-5.30pm is worst, can wait in traffic for up to 10 minutes to get out. Simone, Heddon Greta
All main roads. Testers Hollow through to the Expressway exits at Kurri – It’s not about being stuck in traffic as if it was..the subject would be Maitland roundabout at 8.30-9am. The money spend on the flyover was a waste. The amount of accidents from Cliftleigh to Kurri have increased and is caused by the dual lanes being inappropriate due to the lack of safety of drivers. The accidents are going to lead to a death before anything is done. S Warby, Cliftleigh
Main Road, Heddon Greta – It's not possible for anyone to turn right onto Main Road if you live west of Main Road, especially during peak hours and weekends because there is nothing causing a break in the Main Road traffic in either direction, people are taking risks to jump out in small gaps in the traffic. C Harvey, Heddon Greta
Frame Drive-Cessnock Road intersection – All day. Anthony Mitchell, Abermain
Heddon Greta – Mornings and afternoons. Rod Doherty, Mount Vincent
Intersection of Charles Street and Cessnock Road, Abermain – Mornings 8-9, afternoons 3-4 and 5-6:30. Can be stuck for up for 15 minutes! Katrina, Abermain
Main Road, Heddon Greta – Between 7am and 9.30am and 3pm and 7pm. Can take five minutes to get a turn out of Young Street. School kids have trouble crossing. I hope one doesn't get killed before something is done about it. Christianne Jeffries, Heddon Greta
All Wollombi Road intersections – AM and PM peak hours as well as school zone times. Gemma, Bellbird
All intersections on Wollombi Road – Peak hours and school zone times are the worst, always stuck for ages. Michael, Bellbird
Aldi roundabout – Can be early of a morning, middle of the day or afternoon (school time) can be stuck there for a while.. it's a very poorly constructed roundabout and a lot of drivers do not drive AROUND it, then drive over the top of it therefore building congestion to traffic. I had a car hit me on this roundabout due to the driver driving over the top, doing 60km/h. Very unsafe, and could have seriously injured me and my passengers. I am not the only driver who has had an accident at this roundabout, I have heard of others who have also been hit, due to similar reasons. It needs to be looked at, and needs a different system. Whether it be a proper roundabout instead of the concrete one, or traffic lights. I don't care, but it is unsafe. Melissa Ritchie, Kearsley
Intersection of Lang and Heddon Streets, Kurri Kurri – I use this intersection at least twice a day during school morning and afternoon times mostly. It is a horrible mix of cars going in all directions, people failing to give way to the correct drivers as well as children and elderly trying to cross for the bus stops. This intersection is the main one for Stanford Merthyr residents, Kurri traffic, TAFE users and the Hunter Expressway. I feel traffic lights would make the intersection safer for all who use it. Tshinta, Weston
Heddon Street, Heddon Greta – It's a very hard spot to get our usually the cars are backed up trying to get out onto the main road. I've seen a lot of cars almost get T-boned because people get impatient waiting for so long. Especially when everyone is on there way to the drive-in and people are rude so they wait on the main road and block you into the street while the main road is backed up with cars. There has been times where I've sat there waiting to get out for about 10 to 15 minutes. It’s an awful road to try get out onto. Bobbie, Heddon Greta
Lomas Lane and Wine Country Drive – Turning right out of Lomas Lane during school drop off and pick up is horrendous, accident waiting to happen. Speed limit should be lowered during these times to make it safer to merge into traffic. Cars, buses and trucks hoon down the road. KW
Heddon Greta – School start and finish time also 5.30-6am up to 3-4 minutes. Craig Wood, Heddon Greta
Main Road and Heddon Street, Heddon Greta – 8.30am waiting for over 10 minutes to get out safely. Glenn Sawtell
Corner Young Street and Main Road, Heddon Greta – 7am-9am and 4pm. Ann Campbell
Corner of Main Road and Earp Street, Heddon Greta – Semi-trailers, caravans and dozens of cars doing u-turns on the corner while cars trying to turn to golf club and homes. Just a matter of time!! Anne Parsons, Heddon Greta
