The Tigers dominated the field throughout both halves but the South Wallsend defence were able to hold up them out to push the game into extra time.
The turning point for the Tigers came after their keeper Mathew Swinton saved a penalty shot late in the second half which kept his team in the game and the lift they needed to fight on for the win.
Two minutes into extra time Ethan White smashed the Tigers’ first goal into the back of the net and less than two minutes later Zach Shanahan-Naysmith secured the grand final win with another goal.
It was a fitting end to the season for the two youngsters with White and Shanahan-Naysmith the Tigers leading goal scorers for the season with 10 goals each.
