Relay For Life is a teams event that celebrates cancer survival, remembers loved ones lost to the disease, and fights back against cancer and in hope of a cure.
The first nine Cessnock relays have raised a total of $874,891 for the Cancer Council's research, education, advocacy and support programs – such as the transport-to-treatment vehicle that was launched this year.
This year’s fundraising total sits at $28,435, with 284 participants in 33 teams already registered.
The relay will run from 10am to 10pm on October 14, with plenty of fun, games and entertainment for the whole family.
It’s not too late to enter a team, or sign up for the survivors and carers lap.
