The school has received a golf cart that was donated courtesy of Cessnock Mitsubishi and Toyota.
DALE Christian School caters to students with autism and other diagnosed social, emotional and mental health disorders.
The school has its own building but students attend library, chapel and woodwork classes at the main campus, which is about 500 metres away.
Staff also use the golf cart to attend meetings at the main campus, and it also helps transport children to the bus stop during wet weather.
Head of campus Samantha Dow said the students were very excited that the golf cart had been donated to the school.
“They felt very special,” she said.
“We cannot be more thankful and gracious; it has been a life-changing donation for our staff and students.”
The school currently has 40 students in years 5 to 10, but will be expanding to years 3 to 11 next year (incorporating year 12 in 2019).
