The gym held a successful event Boxing Against Bullying at its Weston headquarters on Saturday to raise money and awareness for the Bully Zero Foundation, which was formed in the wake of the death of Dolly Everett who took her life due to bullying.
“The response was fantastic, we had so many people come along and give boxing a go for the first time and we were able to raise funds to help spread the message that bullying is not on,” the gym’s Madeleine Walsh said.
“We got great support from local business as well including Sign Style, Stone’s Real Estate and East Coast Supplements.
“A lot kids who have been bullied come to boxing to learn to stand up against bullies, but kids on the other side can benefit as well from the discipline and channeling their aggression positively.”
