From niggling issues such as corns and calluses to foot pain, flat feet or people with diabetes, keeping our feet in good condition is key to our comfort and long term health.
Hunter Valley Foot clinics offer podiatry services for all types of foot complaints or concerns and after operating in Kurri Kurri during the last eighteen months, the clinic is now expanding to Cessnock and will open on Wednesdays every fortnight from today to assist patients in the local area.
“The rapid success of our Kurri practice has been very encouraging and we see a growing need for our services in the region.
“It seemed logical for us to open up appointments to the Cessnock local community and extend the same premium care and service our Kurri clients are currently receiving,” says sole practitioner and podiatrist Joe Henderson.
The clinic will offer bulk billed appointments for patients with a GP enhanced primary care plan and Department of Veteran Affairs gold card holders.
The clinic also welcomes patients without referral for consultation when needed.
While the clinic deals with all sorts of everyday foot problems from ingrown toe nails to arch and heel pain it also offers treatment for conditions such as diabetes which can help detect peripheral vascular disease through doppler ultrasounds and infrared sensors.
Appointments are also a good opportunity for patients to check overall foot health.
“Often issues can go undetected, so something as simple as an annual check up from the podiatrist can get someone back on the right track to improving their overall health.
From parents concerned about children with possible flat feet or leg pain, to difficult to manage toenails and calluses we are focused on ensuring that everyone we see is dealt with thoroughly and with care.”
For Cessnock patients appointments will be held at Community Health in Foster Street, Cessnock from 9am to 5pm, with earlier appointments available upon request.
It is likely the Cessnock practice will expand to weekly rooms once up and running. The clinic currently has rooms across several locations including: Port Stephens, Hunter Valley and Lambton.
The Hunter Valley Foot Clinic is also located at 110 Lang Street, In the community healthcare building Kurri Kurri, with appointments available every Tuesday.
