The centre opened in the former Bonds factory in 2014, after more than 60 years on Wollombi Road.
Club manager Lelio Rossi said the PCYC provides youth across the region with a place to engage in sport, with state and national-level gymnastics, sport aerobics and multi-sport rooms, an indoor skate park, 18-metre high indoor rock climbing walls, a boxing ring and a gym among the wide range of sporting facilities on offer.
“It is a hub for sport and recreation and it is not just for the Cessnock community, it is for the entire Hunter Valley,” Mr Rossi said.
“It is a great place for young to get active.”
Cessnock MP Clayton Barr is sponsoring the open day.
“This facility is a hidden treasure that offers opportunities many would be surprised at,” he said.
“Cessnock PCYC means that excellence is right here in our community, people don’t need to travel out of town to find world-class.”
The open day will run from 9am to 4pm and all are welcome.
”All activities will be supervised by our experienced staff, coaches and instructors,” Mr Rossi said.
“Everyone is welcome at the PCYC Cessnock for a fun-filled day.”
