Army rallied and through strong forward momentum and quick passes out to the backs they ran over the line and scored the try to lead 14-7 at half-time..
Army camped in the Reds half to start the second half, but the Red defence held strong and managed to score first when Lachie Peacock crossed the line after a scrum from a knock-on. Shane Doyle converted the try to level the scores.
Army responded with an unconverted try.
The Reds held strong and managed to turn the ball over and with a strong run from the backline and great backing up from Alex Thrift the Reds crossed for an unconverted try and the score was 19 all.
There was only a few minutes to go in the half but the game seemed to run on for another 10 minutes and Army managed to muster a penalty scrum five metres out from the try line and with a good individual effort from their number 8 they crossed for a try. Full time with the conversion to be kicked.
A big effort by the Reds and a game that could have gone either way.
