The event brought about 2000 visitors to Cessnock in the first week of April, with Cessnock’s showground and racecourse, and Millfield at the centre of the action.
The enduro committee presented a donation of $2000 to Millfield Public School’s P&C on Friday.
The school hosted control points for the event on April 4 and 6, when racing took place in nearby bushland.
P&C treasurer Tiffany Wing said they were thrilled to be part of the experience.
“It was awesome to see the learning opportunities that our kids took part in and to have our community come together and enjoy this event will be something we will never forget,” Ms Wing said.
“This unexpected and very generous donation is so exciting to accept and will be used to support our school’s playground improvements.”
The school earned the opportunity to host the control points after several students wrote to the committee to state their case.
School principal Benjamin Durie said being part of the enduro was “unforgettable” for the school and the Millfield community.
"Now that the dust has settled, it is clear that the A4DE event was bigger than just a motorcycle race, it was a community event that will sit in the memories of a whole generation for those that got to be part of it,” Mr Durie said.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity that was the A4DE and our students, teachers and community will never forget it."
Cessnock Motorcycle Club president and event director Glenn Toner said the enduro’s success relied on community partnerships.
“Events like the A4DE cannot run without the community behind it,” he said.
“The way Millfield PS went above and beyond in regards to ownership of the event and involvement was just fantastic, and better than we could have ever hoped for,” he said.
Mr Toner said the donation was “the least they could do” to reward the effort and hard work the school put into supporting the event.
He said a movie about the enduro, being produced by Ride HQ, will be premiered at the school.
