“Many of the thousands of people who engage with Ability Links each year are looking to play or become involved in sport and recreational activities, and to make new friends and connections to like-minded peers through those activities,” St Vincent de Paul Society NSW community engagement officer Seema Sanghi said.
“These ‘Sporting Chance’ forums support local sport and rec clubs to build their capacity to welcome those people and help them to achieve their goals just by participating.
“Chances are it is not as complicated as people might think! And the potential benefits are many and lasting.”
Presenters will include Murray Elbourn (Disability Inclusion Manager, Sport NSW), Toby Kable (All Abilities Sports Coaching) and Hamish Neal (Development Officer – Hunter, Office of Sport).
The Sporting Chance forum will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, with light refreshments provided. RSVP at eventbrite.com/e/sporting-chance-forums-tickets-44435859853.
