May the Fourth is known as Star Wars Day as a play on words of the film’s famous phrase ‘May the force be with you’.
The out-of-uniform day was organised by College 2 students to raise money for their graduation, with characters from Chewbacca to Sith Lords making an appearance.
Students and staff enjoyed in virtual reality Star Wars experiences and a humanoid Storm Trooper robotic demonstration, using equipment from the Cessnock Academy of STEM Excellence (which was established at the school this year).
Toby Taylor (with his unforgettable Chewbacca impression) and Jasmine Knight (Darth Vader) took out the prizes for best character interpretation.
