Six school playgrounds in the Cessnock local government area will be open to the public during the July school holidays as part of the NSW Government’s Share Our Space program.

Playgrounds at Cessnock East, Cessnock West, Congewai, Ellalong, Greta and Kitchener public schools will be open from 8am to 5pm every day during the holidays.
Originally trialled over the summer holidays, the Share Our Space program has been expanded with an additional 85 schools across NSW taking part in the scheme, which will now become permanent.
Participating schools will receive a $5000 grant they can use to help upgrade their facilities for community and school use.
