Mr Magin passed away from heart disease on July 23 last year, and the ride will raise funds for the Heart Foundation.
Chapter president Bo-Ross Magin established the Cogs Hunter crew in Cessnock early last year so his father could take part in a social motorcycle club close to home.
The crew since has raised funds for the Heart Foundation, Diabetes Australia, John Hunter Children’s Hospital and a Woodberry toddler who was hit by a car.
“We get out there on the bike and have fun, and try to help any reasonable causes,” Bo-Ross said.
Bo-Ross said he hopes the memorial ride will become an annual event, to be held the Saturday after the anniversary of his father’s passing.
The ride will depart Aberdare Cemetery at 10.30am Saturday (following a small service), and will travel to Wollombi, Singleton and back to Cessnock – which was Ross’s favourite route.
All types of bikes are welcome.
The event will wrap up with a campover at the Railway Hotel, where there will be entertainment and raffles on Saturday night.
