A man has died after suffering a medical episode while driving at Heddon Greta on Thursday afternoon.

Police said the elderly man, who is yet to be formally identified, was driving along Heddon Street when he suffered the medical episode and his car veered off the road.
Hunter Valley police were called out to the scene just before 2pm and arrived to find a deceased man in a Ford Falcon.
Cessnock police officer in charge Chief Inspector Dave Robinson said after the car left the road, it skidded across a lawn and came to a rest in a hedge.
