The CD, entitled ‘Make It Rain’ will support farming families via the NSW Country Womens Association (CWA).
Dashville director Matt Johnston said he put the call out to artists on the Skyline bill, who were quick to support the idea and send their songs in.
“All the artists jumped on it straight away,” he said. “It’s pretty much everybody on the festival this year and a few from last year.
“It’s a really cool way for all the artists to get involved.”
Johnston said 100 per cent of the proceeds from sales would go direct to the CWA, which provides grants of up to $3000 to drought-affected families to help meet household expenses.
“We spoke to a number of charities and with the CWA, 100 per cent of their profits go to farming families,” he said.
“That’s pretty important when things are so drastic.
“A lot of the community of Dashville Skyline are from rural areas. The festival is held in a rural area. You don’t have to go too far far to see what’s going on.”
The album is available to pre-order now, and Johnston said it should be ready before Skyline at the end of September.
‘Make it Rain’ is $25 and available from the Dashville website.
