The weekend will offer local families a chance to have a bit of fun, get to know their local firefighters while finding out about the local fire risk and learning just how easy it can be to prepare for this bushfire season.
“We’ve already seen during August how quickly fires can develop and threaten homes and lives, so it’s a timely reminder to get ready,” NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said
“The first step in getting ready is knowing your risk, and local brigades can help you with that while providing valuable advice on preparing your home and family.”
Laguna Fire Station ( 3736 Great North Road, Laguna) will be open from 9am to 1pm on Saturday 22 September.
Central Cessnock Fire Station (10 South Street, Cessnock) will open from 9.30am to 3pm on Saturday 22 September
Lochinvar Fire Station (Robert Road, Lochinvar) will be open from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 23 September.
