Six Fire and Rescue NSW crews are currently battling a house fire in King Street, Cessnock, which broke out just before 3pm on Monday afternoon.
More crews are currently en route to the scene.
As the smoke rose higher from the roof of the threatened property, flames jumped to a neighbouring residence as firefighters battle to contain the blaze.
Ambulance officers were also called out to the scene, with paramedics treating people for what looked to be smoke inhalation and all occupants have since been accounted for.
Police have also responded to the incident and firefighting operations are ongoing.
