Cessnock shows its festive spirit at annual Carols in the Park at Cessnock Sportsground

Country music star Tara Naysmith emceed the night once again, while Santas Little Helpers a 14 piece big comprised of musicians from throughout the Hunter region led the crowd through a range of carols, under the guidance of musical director Greg Patterson.

Santa entered the event in style in a helicopter before the night culminated in a spectacular fireworks display.

The event also included markets selling handmade items as well as gourmet food stalls.

Plenty of people donned their finest Christmas gear to celebrate the festive season.
