The group gets together every second Sunday from 9am to 11am, with its next working bee to be held on September 8.
Current works include the removal of camphor laurels and other invasive species in the section of Swamp Creek from Mary Street to Cessnock Road.
Swamp Creek flooded in the storms of June 2007 and April 2015, impacting many properties in Abermain and Weston, and the group hopes the clearing work will help to prevent homes from flooding in the future.

The Landcare group formed in April last year, and has recently secured a grant to help with the restoration project.
Committee secretary Paul Quirk said they would like to see an increase in numbers to help with their upcoming works, which will include planting a minimum of 750 plants, before the grant expires in December.
If you can help, email Paul on paulquirk@bigpond.com or call 0429 028 740.
