Works by some of Australia's best sculptors are on exhibition around the Wollombi Valley until November 10 as part of the 17th annual Sculpture in the Vineyards festival.

The festival opened on October 26 and includes works by award-winning sculptors Robert Barnstone (who took out first prize with Gene Rosa), Paul Selwood, Vince Vozzo, Peter Lundberg, Stephen Coburn, Peter Tilley, Robert Barnstone, Hugh McLachlan, Fiona Kemp and Jane Dawsonth and many more.
Festival director Susan Leith-MIller said the event has created a buzz around the Wollombi Valley.
She said the community raised $33,000 in prize money this year, and about 50 volunteers are helping out.
Amanda Lockton took out the locals' prize with her work Lost Language.
Sculptures are on display and for sale at the GNTP Laguna, Undercliff Winery, the Endeavour Museum, Grays Inn, Stonehurst Winery, Wollombi Tavern, The Old Fireshed Gallery, St John's Church and many public spaces throughout the Wollombi valley until Sunday, November 10.
An associated indoor sculpture exhibition, Gathered, is also being held at Cessnock Regional Art Gallery, featuring works by Nicole de Mestre and Kylie Beynon. Gathered will be officially opened on Saturday at 3pm, and runs until November 23.
