An original tenant of Cessnock Plaza (now Lederer Cessnock), the pharmacy was established in 1981.
Tim Murray became the proprietor in 1997, and now also owns the day-night pharmacy on Wollombi Road, employing about 90 people between the two pharmacies.
Cessnock Plaza Pharmacy manager Cherie Douglas said the pharmacy has many professional services, and strives to provide health solutions for the community.
"We specialise in sleep apnoea, home medications reviews and we have a pharmacy nurse five days a week. Our pharmacists are always available to help," she said.
"Our amazing team offer caring and friendly service to our community."
The pharmacy also has a retail offering, encouraging people to shop locally.
Cherie said the business is proud to support the local community, by employing local people (including part-time roles for students, with staff ranging in age from 14 to 730; sponsoring many sporting groups and donating to local schools and charities.
Upcoming events and promotions include a speech clinic on November 12, a free diabetes meter upgrade on November 14, a COPD clinic on November 20, 20 percent off sleep apnoea accessories on November 28 and a Black Friday sale on November 29.
