This Cessnock City Council project involved the provision of many challenging and engaging play opportunities through a playground upgrade and improvements to the amenity of the playspace.
The park now has more shade, better connectivity via pathway linkages, additional seating, a new bubbler and designated car parking.
Cessnock mayor Bob Pynsent said he is happy to see the transformation of Jeffries Park and looks forward to seeing the community using the new space, which was funded by Cessnock City Council in partnership with the NSW Government's Everyone Can Play initiative.
"As this project was completed in conjunction with the NSW Government's Everyone Can Play initiative, Jeffries Park now provides an increased opportunity for safe, inclusive play for people of all ages and abilities," Cr Pynsent said.
"Jeffries Park is one of many park upgrades across the region that we've been able to deliver to the community this year, which is something we're very proud of as a council."
