I am constantly gobsmacked at how people have all gone back to their old habits of close contact, crowded spaces and no distancing. You are gambling with your own lives and the lives of those around you.

I can't tell you how many times I have decided to not go into certain stores/venues because of how many people were crowded into some pretty small areas. I have also quickly departed some other areas when the crowd surged. And it drives me completely nuts when people behind me, in a service queue, line up and basically stand over the top of my back and shoulders breathing all over me and creating a risk to both of us.

C'mon people. Please stand back from each other, avoid contact and take extra special care of your hands and their cleanliness.

There is going to be a second wave of COVID-19. It is going to be worse than the first. It is not a question of "if", it is simply a matter of when.

I understand that people are getting a bit tired of all of the "social distancing" talk, but guess what - it saves lives and that life could be yours! Or it could be a loved one of yours.

If it helps, don't think of social distancing as a temporary inconvenience. Instead, lock it in to your routine as the new normal. Make it a part of every activity that you do.

In the coming weeks or months, it may well be that we need people to wear face masks or at least something across your mouth and nose. Part of the reason for this is that there have been many people find out that they had COVID-19 14 days after they first got it, which means that for 13 days they were accidentally and unknowingly spreading the disease.

There is a lot of language around the effect on the economy if we have to go back into lockdown. Can I offer this simple little tip - if you work in a business (owner or employee) that was previously affected by the mini-lockdown that we had in recent months, then please do your very best to put away as much in savings and reserve funds as you can, now, while you are still working. You may be relying on some of those savings in the near future.
