The Cessnock agency has entered a team in the One Foot Forward fundraising challenge, which is being conducted by the Black Dog Institute throughout the month of October.
Team members have each set a goal of walking 60 kilometres by the end of the month, with the exception of director James Harvey, who mistakenly nominated 100 kilometres but has committed to the challenge.
The challenge will raise funds for the Black Dog Institute's life-changing research into treatment and prevention of mental illness, as well as vital support services.
Mr Harvey said it's a cause close to their hearts.
"A conversation in the office revealed so many of us had experienced the impacts of depression and mental illness, witnessing family and friends battling the 'shadow-fall' in various ways - some with the saddest of outcomes," he said.
"Through the COVID period and the changing shape of the world, there is a growing concern for mental health and wellbeing.
"The opportunity to support this cause was an easy decision made by our team and has been wholeheartedly embraced as we accept the challenge and punch out the kilometres throughout October."
Some team members are well on track in knocking over the kilometres, and their fundraising target of $3000 is more than half-way fulfilled.
