The students are collecting donations to create Christmas hampers for the Salvation Army.
Classroom teacher Sharni Wynands said initiative came about when the students were learning about "what the world needs now" as part of their history project.
"In this project we have been learning about celebrations and traditions and how they have changed over time. As part of their project they have came up with an initiative to donate back to the community to make Christmas brighter for those in need," she said.
The students are asking for donations of new toys, non-perishable items (such as canned food, spreads and drinks), toiletries (including soap, shampoo and conditioner) and Christmas items including crackers, lollies and puddings.
Donations can be dropped off at the school's front office until Friday, November 27.
