The company will present Joanna Murray-Smith's Bombshells at the Harp of Erin Theatre, opening Friday, November 27.

The cast comprises the same three women who appeared in the theatre company's July production of Vital Signs - Micaela Elphick, Cath Patterson, and Annette Rowlison - ably joined by the very talented Nicky West.

"After the award-winning success of our 2019 production of The Sum of Us, in Newcastle, and our well-received production of Vital Signs at the Harp of Erin Theatre in July this year, many of our audience members have been keenly awaiting our next show," Bare Productions founder Annette Rowlison said.

"We decided Bombshells would fit the bill!"

Bombshells consists of four 20-to-25-minute, beautifully-written monologues.

As the playwright Murray-Smith says, it's "a play that delights in the passionate, miserable, hilarious wildness of women".

Rowlison, who directs the production, says with such lengthy and complex pieces, it's been an intense, but rewarding, director/actor rehearsal regime for each character.

"And the talent and dedication of these actors has resulted in a very slick and multi-nuanced performance from each of them," she said.

Rowlison said the local support for Bare Productions has been "overwhelming and so positive", and that she and producer Heidi Brosnan are very humbled.

"We are again working with the Harp of Erin Theatre venue to ensure we are COVID-safe for this production of Bombshells. We are all looking forward to a fantastic season!" Brosnan said.

Rowlison said they are so pleased with this production that they are keen to do a season of Bombshells in Newcastle early in 2021.

Bombshells runs at the Harp of Erin Theatre (at the rear of Wollombi General Store) from November 27 to 29 (with the Sunday night show booked out), and by popular demand a fourth show has been added on Wednesday, December 2.
