After being suspended in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions, the popular exhibition returns to the museum site on Saturday and Sunday.
"We will have trains on display ranging from the tiny N-scale through to our full-sized steam locomotive Marjorie," museum chairman Peter Meddows said.
"There will be models from all corners of the world, and layouts of different sizes.
"Children will be able to drive a large-scale model of Thomas the Tank Engine, as well as have unlimited rides on both our mini-train and the full-sized steam train.
"It will be a great weekend for family outings, and there will be a warm welcome from our volunteers and exhibitors."
In addition to the model display, regular museum exhibits are also available for viewing. Hot and cold snacks are available at the kiosk, and the souvenir shop will be open.
The museum is located at 262 Leggetts Drive Richmond Vale. Gates open at 9.30am each day, and the last full-sized train runs at 3pm.
Entry is $16.50 adults, $11 concession, $7.50 children 5-15, and under-5s enter for free.
