A MAN who led police on a high-speed pursuit after dodging an RBT at Kurri Kurri, reaching speeds of more than 160km/h as he headed for home in North Rothbury, was tracked down by a police dog after his ute stalled and he was forced to flee on foot into bushland.

Adam Mitchell, 35, appeared in Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to police pursuit, using a vehicle in contravention of a major defect notice and three counts of unlawful possession of number plates.
Mitchell, of North Rothbury, remains behind bars and will be sentenced in Cessnock Local Court in October.
Police say they were patrolling in Kurri Kurri about 4.15am on July 16 when they attempted to stop a Holden Commodore ute for a random breath test.
The vehicle accelerated away, triggering a pursuit that lasted for about 25 kilometres and reached speeds of about 160km/h, police said.
Mitchell's ute turned into Wine Country Drive and stalled near the Tuckers Lane intersection before two people - Mitchell and a woman - got out and fled on foot.
Police gave chase but then set up a perimeter and called in specialist units, including the NSW Police Dog Unit.
A short time later, police dog "Muttley" found Mitchell hiding in the bush off Tuckers Lane and he was arrested, charged and refused bail.
The woman was also arrested, but was later released without charge.
