The iconic Kiwi band will play at a day on the green at Bimbadgen on Sunday, April 24 (ANZAC Day long weekend), with special guests Courtney Barnett and The Waifs.
The Dreamers Are Waiting Tour is the band's first national Australian tour since 2010, and only their third Australian tour in the past 15 years.
The band unveiled a new line-up last year featuring founding members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour, along with producer and keyboardist Mitchell Froom, guitarist and singer Liam Finn, and drummer Elroy Finn.
They released their seventh studio album Dreamers Are Waiting last June, featuring the singles Whatever You Want, Playing With Fire, To The Island, Love Isn't Hard At All and latest offering, Sweet Tooth.
Crowded House won Best Adult Contemporary Album for Dreamers Are Waiting at the 2021 ARIA Awards, and are nominated for Best Record at the Sailor Jerry Rolling Stone Awards 2022, which will be held in Sydney on March 30.
Crowded House is a long-standing and much-loved vehicle for the songwriting talents of Neil Finn. Formed in Melbourne in 1985 out of the ashes of New Zealand's Split Enz by Neil, Paul Hester and Nick Seymour, their eponymous self-titled debut album had global success with the hits Don't Dream It's Over and Something So Strong.
The band's first incarnation lasted from 1985 through to 1995, produced four studio albums and enjoyed more success worldwide.
This line-up said Farewell to the World on the steps of the Sydney Opera House in 1996 with a now legendary performance in front of 150,000 people.
In 2005, following the tragic death of Paul Hester, Neil and Nick felt emotionally compelled to bring Crowded House back, to put some more "good history", as they described it, into the story of the band. Drafting in new drummer Matt Sherrod and with long-time touring member Mark Hart, they released the album Time On Earth to critical acclaim and toured the world.
Another album, Intriguer, was recorded in 2009. Crowded House was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2016, at the same time reprising its Farewell shows at the Sydney Opera House with four nights of stunning performances, the last of which was broadcast nationally.
Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, six-time ARIA Award winner and Brit and Grammy award nominee Courtney Barnett has been celebrated as one of the most distinctive, crucial and compelling voices in indie rock; a writer who mixes witty, hilarious and occasionally heartbreaking observations with devastating self-assessment.
One of Australia's most successful musical exports, she has earned accolades and fans across the globe with tracks including Pedestrian At Best, Nameless, Faceless, Need A Little Time, Before You Gotta Go and Avant Gardener, and her powerhouse live performances have seen her perform at festivals around the world. Released in November last year, her third full-length album, Things Take Time, Take Time, consolidated her reputation as a storyteller of intimate, poignant Australian tales.
This year marks 30 years since folk-rockers The Waifs began their career playing gigs around the country in their well-travelled van, leading to multiple ARIA awards, platinum albums and international tours.
A unique chemistry and profound depth of songwriting talent has bound the three original members - Donna Simpson, Vikki Thorn and Josh Cunningham - as they continue to share their folk-infused, feel-good sounds with multi-generational audiences. Their potent, classic singalong hits include London Still, Lighthouse and Bridal Train.
