Presented by Octapod and Creative Plus Business, the workshop - titled What's It Worth - will be held at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre's program room on Friday, March 25.
The practical workshop is designed for creative freelancers, established practitioners, arts organisations, and covers the basics of figuring out the price point for creative work, including calculating costs and understanding what the market can bear.
Participants will also discuss the larger issues of understanding budgets, including the value of time; the psychology of pricing; where cost and price overlap and intersect; understanding the marketplace (and market research); creating loss leaders and more.
All participants will receive access to dedicated resources and workbooks to help continue their learning; additional free webinars to supplement the material covered in the workshop; and the possibility of further one-to-one business advice, mentoring and support from one of our creative industries business specialist advisors.
What It's Worth will be presented by Monica Davidson, who founded Creative Plus Business, a social enterprise which is dedicated to educating creative people about small business and marketing skills.
The workshop will run from 11.30am to 1.30pm Friday.
