Heddon Greta residents will have a new playground to enjoy by mid-year, with work beginning soon on the new Avery's Lane Park.
Cessnock City Council announced on Friday, February 9 that the park, on the corner of Avery's Lane and Cruden Circuit, will be open to the public in June 2024.
Located in Avery's Rise, the park will include a playspace with an accessible spinner, double bay swing, turbo slide and rope net.
The concept design image shows a shaded picnic table area, flat area and lots of trees and pathways.
Cessnock mayor Jay Suvaal said the new park reflects the growing community in the LGA.
"Avery's Lane Park will be a welcome space where families, friends and members of the community can come together to create lasting memories," said Clr Suvaal.
"While we are still in the early stages of construction, I'm sure this park is going to be a hotspot for the neighbourhood.
"I look forward to seeing the park open, for all members of the community to enjoy."
Avery's Lane Park is funded by developer contributions.
The project also involves earthworks and landscaping. Follow Cessnock City Council on social media to stay up to date on this and other projects.
