Hawthorn is looking to set up another grand final clash against Sydney but Port's form has been irresistible during the finals series. Could an upset be in the offing? Welcome to our live blog of the Second Preliminary Final between Hawthorn and Port Adelaide from the MCG! Sydney is already through to the 2014 Grand Final after it hammered North Melbourne on Friday night at ANZ Stadium. The Swans will face the winner of today's clash in the big dance next week. Today's preliminary final always promised to be a closer affair than the Swans-Kangaroos contest, and the events of last night seem to have justified that school of thought. Hawthorn and Port Adelaide have only ever met in one final and that was all the way back in 2001 when the Hawks scored an upset three-point win in the Second Semi-Final at AAMI Stadium. The Power haven't beaten Hawthorn at the MCG since R4, 2009. Hawthorn is aiming to qualify for a third consecutive grand final for the first time since 1989. Port Adelaide is gunning for its first grand final appearance in seven years. If the Hawks beat the Power, next week will also be their fourth grand final in seven seasons. Hawthorn (219) will have 115 more games of finals experience than Port Adelaide (104) this evening. Yesterday, Garry Lyon wrote about the threat that Port Adelaide's small forwards pose for Hawthorn. Ashley Porter has answered the important questions relating to today's preliminary final.
