The golfing protege, who attends St Philip's Christian College Cessnock, is preparing to fly out to the US in July to defend his  IJGA World Stars of Junior Golf title he won in Las Vegas.

It will be tough as he could potentially face nine-year-old opponents.

Harry picked up a golf club at just 18 months old and by the time he was four he was a member at Branxton and playing regularly.

“He loves golf and would play it all the time if we allowed him. If anything we probably hold him back and make sure he tries out other sports and pastimes,” Harry’s father Chris said.

“If anything I think he is probably a better swimmer than golfer.  

“We want to make sure he doesn’t get burned out and lose his love of the game. It’s up to him if he wants to turn professional later on.” 

Harry recently returned from the Australian Age Division Championships where he placed second in the 7-8 years section as a 7 year old. He  gained automatic selection into Australian Team as the highest placed 7-year-old.

His list of achievements in the past 12 months are impressive including winning the IJGA World Stars of Junior Golf World Championship in Las Vegas, collecting a silver medal at the AAU Junior Olympics in California.

He finished fourth at the Asia Pacific Age Group Masters on the Gold Coast, eight at the US Kids Australian Open in Sydney and second at the Australian Age Division Championships.

“This trip will probably be the last overseas for a while as Harry now has a handicap and qualified for the Jack Newton junior tournaments so he can develop at home,” Justin said..
