The Cessnock Art Group, which is based at the Uniting Church Hall, has been running an annual exhibition at the library for about 15 years.
The art works are available for sale at affordable prices, but the exhibition is also about getting people interested in the group itself.
“It’s a casual group, open to anybody, and we all learn off one another,” group member Margaret Warner said.
The exhibition will run until August 23, with paintings, handmade cards and bookmarks among the works on display and for sale.
The group is planning to hold another exhibition closer to Christmas.
The group meets at the Cessnock Uniting Church Hall in Cooper Street on Thursdays from 9am to noon, and welcomes newcomers of all skill levels.
Fees are $10 per term ($6 concession).
