Genesis Fitness Club Cessnock will hold an open day this Saturday from 7am to 2pm. There will be about 25 market stalls in the carpark, group fitness masterclasses, Coaching Zone marathons, prizes and giveaways. The creche will be open, and all are welcome. The Kurri Kurri Community Markets are held in Rotary Park on the second Saturday of the month. The markets run from 8am to 1pm, with a great variety of stalls.

Cessnock U3A is welcoming new members for 2020. U3A stands for "University of the Third Age", representing the time following childhood and working life. Courses include petanque (Monday mornings), craft (Monday afternoons, twice a month), Tai Chi (Tuesday and Friday mornings), book club (Tuesday afternoons, monthly), Coffee and Chat Wednesday (monthly), walking group (Wednesday mornings, monthly), guest speakers (Thursday afternoons, monthly), music/films (Thursdays, monthly) and balance and bones exercise (Thursday afternoons, fortnightly). YOUTH WEEK
Multiple venues, March 14 to April 11
Youth Week 2020 gets underway in Cessnock this Saturday, with a skate jam at Greta Skate Park. The festival runs until April 11, with trivia nights, a cooking competition, a TedX Youth night, an Aboriginal cultural afternoon, and art, make-up and cooking workshops among the activities on the 21-event program. The feature event, Youth Fest, will be held at the Cessnock TAFE grounds on Saturday, April 4, with live music, amusements, food stalls and an outdoor cinema.
