MAGICAL NIGHT OUT
A joint Seniors Festival-Youth Week event will be held at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre this Friday evening, kicking off at 5.30pm with JD's World of Magic and a barbecue, followed by a screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone from 6.30pm. MEGA CREATURES
Hunter Valley Gardens' Mega Creatures exhibition is under way, with rides, interactive fossil digs and giant animatronic animals for all the family to enjoy.
Mega Creatures will be open every day 9am-4pm from April 2 to May 1, while the Night Safari with be open every night from 5.30pm until 10pm. Easter-themed activities will run over the long weekend (April 15-18). For more information or tickets, visit www.huntervalleygardens.com.au.
RETIRED MINEWORKERS
Cessnock Retired Mineworkers' next meeting will be held at Cessnock Leagues Club on Monday, April 11 at 10.30am. The Northern District Retired Mineworkers Association will hold its mid-year dinner - also at the Leagues club - on Saturday, July 23 from 10.30am. The cost is $20 per person. Names and money will be taken at the meeting for anyone interested in attending.
