2018 Cessnock Stomp Festival is on Sunday, April 8

Coordinated by Cessnock Chamber of Commerce, the Stomp festival is in its third year and is expected to draw about 15,000 people to Vincent Street.

Cessnock town coordinator Anthony Burke said the festival has something for everyone.

“There’s 600 metres of wine, food, markets, things for the kids, things for the family, and all of the local businesses will be open for you to check out,” he said.

Hunter Valley wine identity Brian McGuigan – co-owner of the festival’s major sponsor, Ben Ean – said the Stomp festival will be a fantastic event.

“It’s going to be a great day out, and it will bring the town and all of the vineyards together right in the middle of Cessnock,” he said.​

The festival will commence at 10am with the official opening and the first stomping competition at 10.30am.

Again the Great Cessnock Stomp will be the feature on centre stage (at the intersection of Vincent and Cooper Streets), with competitors stomping for two minutes to squeeze as much grape juice out as they possibly can with their feet.

With 600 metres of festival fun it offers something for everyone, showcasing wineries, breweries, local businesses, food stalls, markets and local organisations.

The VIP Indulgence Experience promises to be a real treat: an hour session with wine, gourmet food, a visit from Hunter Valley winemakers Brian McGuigan and Colin Peterson, My Kitchen Rules celebrity Jason Chesworth, music and a goodie bag. Tickets are $35, don’t miss out and book today.

If you want a place to explore, then drop by the Peterson House Bubbles and Beauty Marquee, indulge in local bubbles, cider and wines while being pampered by local beauty businesses.

The Beer Haven is set to be another great attraction to enjoy a brew or two from breweries.

The Stomp Festival truly has something for everyone. The Woolworths Kids Zone has rides to keep the kids busy. A new area to the festival this year is the Bunnings Family Corner, an area with face painting, large games, free fruit from Cessnock Woolworths, activities with Cessnock PCYC and a visit from Hunter Valley Zoo.

The CWA will host a tea room at 161 Vincent Street, with all proceeds to the Buy A Bale drought relief campaign.
