A market day at the former Weston Ambulance Hall on Saturday will raise funds for the local disability service provider, Finding Yellow.
The hall is home to Finding Yellow's Social Circles program, which offers entertainment, social outings and educational activities for people living with a disability.
Finding Yellow acquired Lower Hunter Peer Support (which was based at the Weston hall) in 2016, and has since upgraded the hall's floors and bathroom.
The next project on its wish list is a commercial kitchen, which would allow participants the opportunity to learn independent living skills, and could also be used for training courses.
Finding Yellow CEO Andrew Warren said Saturday's market will not only raise money to improve the hall, but will also raise community awareness of the services that the organisation offers across the Cessnock local government area.
Originally known as Cessnock Hostel, the organisation was founded in West Cessnock in 1982 by a group of local parents, initially offering accommodation and low-level care for people with disability.
It was rebranded as Finding Yellow in 2013, and along with its presence in Weston, it has also expanded into the Cessnock CBD, with an office opening in Vincent Street in March this year.

As an NDIS registered provider, it offers a range of services including supported independent living (accommodation), Social Circles, coordination support and supported holidays.
Mr Warren said the organisation has had significant growth in the past 18 months, going from six staff to more than 40, and a client base of 70-plus participants.
The markets will run from 9am to 2pm Saturday at 92 Station Street, Weston, with local stalls including handmade art, craft, fashion, accessories, plants and homemade treats.
There will also be entertainment for the kids by Super Hubert (from 9am to 11am), food and drink, and a huge raffle with great prizes.
Entry is free and all are welcome. Accessible and on-site parking is available, but there is no ATM facility on-site.
